Love Letters to the Ordinary

When last did you do something slowly…not because you had to, but because you wanted to?
When last did you let a moment stretch?
Not rushing your morning tea.
Not multitasking in the shower.
Not scrolling while eating!
Ugh, I'm so guilty!
When last did you savour an ordinary moment to just… be there?, Fully. Not on autopilot, darling. Body, breath and senses in the same room.
Somewhere along the way, we started treating life like a checklist. Wake up.Work.Reply.Produce.Sleep.Repeat. And in between all of that…we forgot to feel it. We forgot that being alive is not a task to complete. It’s a delicious experience to savour with all our senses activated and fully present. Hmmm, just writing this feels so good!
Let me share a secret with you. Are you ready for this? Darling, your body was never designed to hustle through your existence! Oof, let that land for a second. She came here to taste mango juice dripping down her wrist. To feel warm water running down tired shoulders. To laugh so hard her belly hurts. To cry without apologizing and to rest without "earning" it. To rest without "earning" it. I simply had to repeat it.
She came here to live sensually. Softly. Devotedly.

Maybe she's asking for more ritual, small, ordinary things done with reverence.
Because ritual is just this:
attention + intention.
That’s all it actually is, and you know what? A ritual can be anything that you want it to be.
And with that, the mundane suddenly becomes sacred, magical, and even whimsical.
Every touch, every breath, every sensory experience can become a quiet act of devotion to yourself. And naturally you begin to see the beauty within every moment, space and living being. Because there is beauty all around us, we must just choose to see it. To remember it.

Let's start with light. Open your blinds. Actually, no, get rid of those blinds and replace them with beautiful, flowy curtains. Those that dance with the breeze and play with the sunlight peeking through and allow that natural sunlight to spill across your skin, first thing in the morning. My darling, you've been sun-kissed. And please remember to take a deep breath of fresh air BEFORE you consume that which is on your phone.
Because the morning is your first gift of the day, and it deserves your attention.
Make your coffee or tea like it’s a ceremony. Hear the kettle singing. Smell the steam. Wrap both hands around the mug and notice the warmth radiating into your palms. Sip slowly. Taste fully. Feel the gratitude in your body. Insert here, a prayer or affirmation (say it out loud or even sing it)
Girl, please put away the phone.
If you meditate, stretch, or journal, do it with love, not obligation. Your morning can be a soft initiation into the world, not a harsh jumpstart. You're not a robot, remember?

Step outside barefoot, please, even for just two minutes. I want you to feel the ground beneath your feet, stretch that tight neck of yours, and roll your shoulders. Remind your body throughout the day that it is alive, present, and deserving of care. I believe this is so important because we often forget to take small breaks throughout the day, especially when we work from home.
Eat lunch with intention. Not while scrolling. Chew slowly. Smell your food. Taste it. Notice textures, colors, and flavors. Even simple salads or leftovers become a sensory feast when approached mindfully. Come on, imagine eating food without being able to taste it? Pretty darn bleak, right? So enjoy it!
Take a moment to pause between tasks. A deep inhale, a long exhale. Allow your body to delight in the small, gentle pleasures that often go unnoticed. I have been doing this a lot lately. I place my hands on the side of my rib cage and feel the expansion as I breathe in and the contraction as I breathe out. This is a good way to reconnect to the body and breath.

Dim the lights and turn on music that moves you. Soft, instrumental, or your favorite voice. This is the soundtrack to your evening, so be picky! Light a candle or diffuse essential oils. My favorites are sweet orange oil, mandarin, and lavender. Calming and uplifting at the same time.
Do you have a skin care routine? Honestly, I am kinda shocked at the routines I see online, like come on, who needs a 20-step skin care routine? But hey, taking care of your skin is important; however, you really don't need 20 steps. When you do your routine, try to slow it down and notice the sensations. The silky textures, the warmth, the stretch of your muscles, you can even add in a quick, little massage ;) because why not?
Wear clothes that honor your body, not restrict it. Reminder, you are not an ornament. You are a living, breathing vessel, deserving of comfort and ease.

Romanticize the ordinary. Touch your life like it is precious. Treat yourself like someone you love deeply and turn the everyday into devotion.
Light the candle. Buy the flowers. Wear the perfume. Play the song twice.
Let your life feel like a love affair.
With the world.
With your body.
With yourself.
This is your reminder:
Nothing extraordinary has to happen for today to be beautiful. All you need to do is witness it.
And if something in you is longing to go deeper, to soften more fully into your body, to tend to your nervous system, to be held in a space where you don’t have to perform or produce.
This February, I’m turning healing into a love affair.
Rest & Receive:
Two 2-hour Reiki sessions
To be used within 4–6 weeks.
A space to fully exhale. To regulate. To remember what it feels like to be supported.
This February, the offering is R1,500(instead of R1,760).
A devotion to slowing down. To honor your senses. To turn your healing into a ritual.
Because love letters are not only written. They can also be experienced.
If you feel called, I would be honored to hold that space for you.
You can book your Rest & Receive sessions

A quiet love‑letter to your own life.
Always, Pascale 🌿
